In the last weight class of the match, at 125 lbs, Jeremy Phillips (Woodruff) would tech.fall Nick Mari (Loris), 17-0. A pin fall would have changed everything, so key recognition goes to Nick Mari for helping Loris win the Title on tiebreaker criteria.

Some interesting trivia from this match:
1. This was the first State Duals Final in S.C. that finished with tiebreaker criteria.
2. Given the delays of wrestling this match (see articles above), the 2A State Duals Final was finally wrestled one day before State Individuals started.
3. Incredible 4 year run - Loris also won the State Title in 2007 and 2008 while finishing State Runner-up to Abbeville in 2009.
4. Woodruff also lost to Loris in 2008. The 2001 Woodruff team won the State Title under Coach Chad Singleton.
5. Speaking of Coach Chad Singelton, he is one of only five coaches to win State Titles with different schools. Here is the list of coaches:
